History of Pop Music Video for Zach Maxwell

Zach Maxwell is a performer, producer, songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer born and raised in New York City.

CHALLENGE

Create a music video for Maxwell’s History of Pop Music track, which samples decades of pop songs.

SOLUTION

We wanted to show footage of the sampled pop artists to give context as each of their samples played in the song. This set us off on an adventurous hunt for video clips of artists from 1940 to 2014. Once we had captured a trove of video, we began editing in and lip-syncing the clips to the music. We added in all kinds of eclectic footage from cartoon animations to breakdancers as transitions and overlays to tie it all together.

RESULTS

Zack Maxwell was ecstatic about the finished product and released it to his YouTube channel.
