Ford Models Super Model of the World Video
CLIENT
ABOUT
Supermodel of the World is an international modeling contest established by Eileen Ford in 1980. The contest showcases young fashion model entrants from over 50 countries in order to discover new talent for the fashion industry. The winner of the international final event receives a $250,000 modeling contract with Ford Models. The two runners up receive contracts of $150,000 and $100,000 respectively.
CHALLENGE
The mission was to kick-off the live show and get the crowd pumped with a captivating video. The video was to play behind the catwalk on a giant screen before the first girl walked out.
SOLUTION
To start, create a cool sexy intro that presented Ford’s logo, the SMOW logo, and the event’s sponsors, along with motion graphics asking, “Who’s the girl?”
We knew the best way to tell the story of the competition’s importance would be to show the successful top models it had produced. Three showcases were created with distinct visual styles for top models Camila Finn, Liliane Ferrarezi, and Nataliya Gotsii.
RESULTS
The work exceeded the client’s expectations. When the video ended, the audience was cheering and clapping. The first contestant who walked out was startled by an overwhelming sea of applause and blushed, thinking it was for her.
